Payroll & Benefits Specialist (HR): Managing global payroll and benefits administration for 600+ employees across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and Australia with an accent on compliance, accuracy, and employee experience. Focus on coordinating complex multi-region payroll cycles, performing reconciliations, and optimizing payroll systems.

Location: Remote (Must be based in Costa Rica)

Salary: ₡ 14,360,800 - ₡ 18,846,200 CRC

What you will do

  • Manage global payroll processing across multiple countries, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes in payroll and benefits systems.
  • Maintain compensation records, benefit elections, and employee data.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits administration processes.
  • Support year-end payroll activities and monitor regulatory/tax updates.

Requirements

  • Experience processing Canadian and U.S. payroll in a multi-entity or complex business environment.
  • Payroll certification or equivalent professional administration experience.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as UKG, Workday, or CloudPay.
  • Advanced Excel skills, specifically Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • English: B2+ proficiency (effective written and verbal communication).
  • Location: Must be based in Costa Rica.
