Location: Hybrid (Vancouver, Canada). Must be in-office every Tuesday and Thursday

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 CAD

What you will do

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to deliver well-scoped product features.
• Develop and maintain high-performance, high-availability backend systems.
• Practice and advocate for test-driven development (TDD) to ensure software reliability.
• Design and optimize scalable distributed systems and data collection pipelines.
• Support the development of connected hardware and AI training datasets for the Robotics team.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (preferred), Golang, Node.js, or Python.
• Strong foundation in programming principles, design patterns, and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms like Redis or Memcached.
• Experience with AWS and test-driven CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in Vancouver, Canada to support the hybrid in-office requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience with NextJS or other frontend technologies.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese.
