What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Python or Go for underwriting automation.
• Integrate statistical and machine learning models to assess, price, and monitor cyber risk.
• Create and maintain alerts, monitors, and dashboards to ensure system observability and stability.
• Write clean, tested code with robust unit and integration tests for frequent releases.
• Lead end-to-end projects and act as a technical driver within a cross-functional team.
• Contribute to architecture discussions balancing scalability, pragmatism, and decoupling.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• Strong experience building and operating backend APIs and services in Python or Go.
• Hands-on experience with REST and at least one additional transport format like gRPC or GraphQL.
• Practical experience deploying and running services in AWS or another major public cloud.
• Experience working on an agile software team using collaborative tools like GitHub or GitLab.
• Ability to independently drive projects of moderate scope and mentor less-experienced engineers.
