What you will do

• Design and build data-intensive, scalable REST APIs for core SaaS features and external partners.
• Collaborate with Frontend and QA teams to ensure smooth feature delivery and production-readiness.
• Translate product requirements into detailed technical implementation plans.
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure system reliability and support ongoing development.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards for quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Define and refactor data models and address scalability or data integrity issues.

Requirements

• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and frameworks such as Express or Fastify.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining REST APIs in a production environment.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, specifically Aurora, DynamoDB, and Lambda.
• Ability to write direct and performant SQL code.
• Experience with automated integration and unit testing frameworks.
• Must be based in Canada (British Columbia).

Nice to have

• Experience with ecommerce or point of sale (POS) platforms.
