What you will do

• Monitor merchant and transaction activity in real-time to detect fraud patterns and anomalies.
• Analyze large datasets to identify risk trends, specifically regarding chargebacks and volume spikes.
• Create and refine rules, alerts, and reports within risk monitoring tools to flag suspicious behavior.
• Investigate alerts and fraud cases, providing documentation and recommendations for resolution.
• Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and operations teams to align risk controls.
• Provide data-driven insights to improve risk strategies and internal mitigation tools.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis or fraud detection, preferably in merchant services or payments.
• Strong analytical skills for transactional data and risk trend identification.
• Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, fraud typologies, and risk scoring.
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work hybrid from the Newark office three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with fraud detection platforms such as Kount or Sift.
• Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, and NACHA compliance requirements.
• Experience with machine learning models or analytics platforms.
