What you will do

  • Set and own the risk strategy, appetite, and policy framework in partnership with the CFO.
  • Manage the end-to-end risk function, including underwriting, transaction monitoring, dispute and fraud management.
  • Direct credit and risk decisioning and own KYC/KYB standards across the merchant lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with card brand rules, sponsor bank requirements, and NACHA regulations.
  • Design and implement automation, tooling, and playbooks to scale processed volume efficiently.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the risk operations team while partnering with Product, Sales, and Finance.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States.
  • 8+ years in payments, risk management, or financial services operations.
  • 3+ years of experience leading risk or payment operations teams or functions.
  • Hands-on expertise in underwriting, credit risk, and fraud prevention, ideally in an embedded payments or PayFac context.
  • Working knowledge of card brand rules, sponsor bank guidelines, and NACHA.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
