Staff Supplier Project Engineer (Hybrid - Acton, MA) (Medical Devices)

Location: Acton, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid arrangement with required on-site work from an hirify.global office. Travel to suppliers is required for approximately 25% of the time, increasing to up to 50% during critical activities.

Salary: $117,000–$175,500 annual base salary, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead supplier capital tooling and equipment qualification projects from kick-off through production implementation.
• Manage multiple projects in Smartsheet, including timelines, risks, issues, actions, and decisions.
• Collaborate with R&D on design-for-manufacturability analysis for precision medical-device components.
• Generate or review supplier validation and qualification protocols, coordinate execution, and complete final reporting.
• Lead procurement and installation of manufacturing equipment at global suppliers.
• Investigate quality issues, lead corrective actions, and improve project documentation standards.

Requirements

• BS degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Approximately 10 years of experience with manufacturing processes such as molding, stamping, electronics, or machining.
• Experience working for a direct-material supplier as an engineer or project manager.
• Ability to manage supplier tooling projects from concept through production, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for component manufacturing and secondary operations.
• Expertise in PFMEA, control plans, and measurement system analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, MS Office proficiency, and experience with Smartsheet or Excel.

Nice to have

• PMI project management certification.
• Six Sigma process improvement experience or certification.
• Experience in a regulated industry.
