Mechanical Engineer

TL;DR

Mechanical Engineer (3D Design): Delivering mechanical engineering for simple to complex equipment projects with an accent on 3D modeling, detailed drawings, calculations, and equipment validation. Location: Onsite in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada; up to 20% travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop 3D models, assembly drawings, detail drawings, bills of material, and drawing releases according to company specifications.
• Check drawings and bills of material for quality, accuracy, fit, and purpose.
• Perform engineering calculations, 3D scans, equipment-fit verification, and contract compliance reviews.
• Participate in safety risk assessments and prepare related documentation.
• Provide technical support during customer project meetings and facilitate equipment or design problem resolution.
• Define assembly and validation scopes, support shop layouts and fabrication for testing, and coordinate assembly, testing, commissioning, and service activities.

Requirements

• Two- or three-year college diploma in mechanical engineering technology, mechanical techniques, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• At least two years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision and lead design personnel on small to medium-sized projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, equipment design, calculations, technical drawings, and bills of material.
• Successful background check, pre-employment physical examination, and drug screening are required as a condition of employment.
