Project Engineer (Water Treatment)

Location: Canada; remote work mode

What you will do

• Design mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment, biological sludge incineration, and digestion projects.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations and prepare technical specifications for pumps, blowers, compressors, chemical feed systems, vessels, tanks, filters, piping, and valves.
• Prepare RFQ packages and conduct technical bid evaluations for mechanical equipment.
• Review engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical data for completeness, accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Coordinate process and mechanical design reviews and resolve technical and scheduling issues during design, construction, and start-up.
• Interface with project managers, customers, and cross-functional engineering stakeholders while meeting QMS requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a related engineering field.
• Experience in water treatment or the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience specifying and evaluating rotating equipment, piping, tanks, and manual valves.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and PFDs, including material balances, and perform hydraulic design with head and NPSH calculations for pump sizing.
• Fluent English and strong technical writing, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. French is an asset.
