What you will do
- Lead impartial workplace investigations into harassment, discrimination, misconduct, and policy violations.
- Design and operationalize the investigation program, including intake channels, triage criteria, and risk rating models.
- Analyze investigation trends to drive policy updates, control improvements, and manager training content.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance on agency charges (EEOC/CRD) and regulatory matters.
- Serve as the primary ER advisor for managers and HRBPs on performance management and conflict resolution.
- Provide cross-functional HR generalist support during periods of lower ER case volume.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Must be based in the US; is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.
- Deep knowledge of federal and California employment law.
- Proven experience conducting complex, high-risk, and sensitive confidential investigations.
- Experience in high-growth technology, aerospace, or defense environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Employment Law (JD/MBA preferred).
Nice to have
- Professional certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP.
- Experience building an ER function from the ground up in a high-growth startup.
- Background as an employment law attorney or JD degree.
- Experience in union or labor relations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience implementing investigation case management systems and reporting dashboards.
