Senior Employee Relations Investigator (Workplace Investigations/Employment Law): Conducting thorough, impartial investigations into workplace complaints involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations with an accent on evidence analysis, procedural fairness, and risk assessment. Focus on interviewing involved parties, producing defensible findings, escalating legal and compliance risks, and coordinating resolutions with Legal and HR.
Location: McLean, Virginia, USA, in the Washington Metro area. Remote work is available, with occasional work at a Booz Allen or customer facility. U.S. citizenship is required.
Salary: $77,600–$176,000 annualized USD.

What you will do
- Conduct end-to-end investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and company policy violations.
- Interview complainants, respondents, and witnesses while maintaining neutrality and procedural fairness.
- Analyze communications, documents, data, and other evidence to establish the facts.
- Prepare clear, accurate, objective, and defensible investigation summaries and findings.
- Identify and escalate legal, compliance, and reputational risks while advancing cases within service-level agreements.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, and leadership on resolutions, policy interpretation, documentation, and confidential case management.
Requirements
- 7+ years of employee relations investigation experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 9+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Knowledge of employment law principles and workplace compliance policies.
- Ability to write clear, objective reports based on factual evidence.
- U.S. citizenship and availability for work in the Washington Metro area are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with case management systems or investigative databases.
- Experience with structured interview techniques and root-cause analysis.
- Experience in matrixed or large-scale organizations and human resources.
- AWI-CH, SHRM-CP, PHR, or another professional certification.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, critical-thinking, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
