Senior Backend Engineer (GraphQL)

Location: US, Remote

Base salary: $170,000–$235,000 annually, plus equity eligibility.

hirify.global is a remote cybersecurity product company developing NodeZero, a platform for autonomous penetration testing and security assessment operations.

What you will do

• Design and implement customer-facing GraphQL APIs, including federated subgraphs, schema evolution, permissions, and multi-account query scoping.
• Build and operate the Integration Router with reusable connectors, authentication, secrets management, vendor adapters, and workflow execution.
• Develop and maintain integrations with security and IT platforms such as CrowdStrike, Splunk, ServiceNow, Jira, Palo Alto, and SentinelOne.
• Own reliability for API and integration services, including monitoring, alerting, deployments, retries, rate limits, vendor API changes, and safe failure handling.
• Contribute to the MCP platform, OAuth proxy layer, and AI-powered agentic workflows across multiple production environments.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and security-domain teams while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with modern object-oriented or functional programming languages.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Production cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL backends, public API platforms, versioning, developer documentation, permission models, and multi-tenant access.
• Experience with SQL, relational or graph databases, event-driven workflows, Kafka, asynchronous execution, and integration platforms.
• Experience with OAuth/OIDC, security or IT platform integrations, observability tooling, on-call ownership, and customer-facing developer tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL and Neo4j.
• Experience with MCP, agentic frameworks, or other tool-protocol ecosystems.
• Experience with CLI tools, SDKs, developer portals, or third-party security platforms.
