TL;DR
Key Account Manager (Global Rare Diseases): Driving specialty pharmaceutical sales and strategic account management across a multi-state Northeast territory with an accent on rare disease education, healthcare-provider engagement, and compliant prescribing support. Focus on developing territory plans, identifying market opportunities, collaborating cross-functionally, and managing customer relationships across a large geography.

Location: Field-based/remote in the United States; candidates should live in or near ME, NH, MA, CT, VT, RI, or NY. Up to 60% travel is required, including overnight and occasional weekend travel. No relocation support is offered.

Annual base pay: $161,280–$197,120, plus applicable overtime for qualifying non-exempt employees.

What you will do

  • Create awareness of rare disease states and educate healthcare professionals and their staff on products, disease states, clinical data, and patient support resources.
  • Develop business opportunities, prospect for accounts, manage leads, and build strategic relationships across the territory.
  • Analyze market intelligence, develop territory business plans, and execute strategies to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Guide healthcare professionals through compliant prescribing processes and support services.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales leadership, training, and other internal partners on local market needs, messaging, speaker programs, and conferences.
  • Maintain compliant activity and expense records using Veeva CRM and Concur while completing required training and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in related and diverse functions or roles.
  • Clinical experience selling specialty or rare disease products across a large, multi-state geography.
  • Rare disease or biologics selling experience, strong account management skills, and a record of achieving sales targets.
  • Strong customer engagement, communication, strategic problem-solving, collaboration, and ethical decision-making skills.
  • Experience with Veeva, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office, Concur, Zoom, Teams, or WebEx, plus knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and hospital credentialing.
