TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (C++): Improving Roblox client performance across supported platforms with an accent on optimizing computing resources and identifying bottlenecks. Location: Based in San Mateo, CA (Hybrid: onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)

What you will do
- Drive execution of roadmaps to improve the efficiency of Roblox on target platforms.
- Design novel solutions to optimize performance and computing resource usage of the client app.
- Profile and diagnose real-world performance on iOS and Android to identify bottlenecks and validate improvements.
- Build production-grade benchmarks, CI/CD automation to catch regressions, and actionable monitoring dashboards.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to align on priorities, tradeoffs, and rollout plans.
- Deliver scalable improvements and guardrails across mobile, desktop, and console.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working in C++ with a track record in large, complex codebases.
- Hands-on expertise in improving performance on mobile platforms (iOS and/or Android).
- Experience with on-device profiling to identify and measure optimization opportunities.
- Ability to build reliable systems for measurement, monitoring, and regression prevention.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to take projects from MVP to production-grade.
- Must have United States work authorization (certain visa categories and H-1B sponsorship are not supported).
