Location: Must be based in Vancouver, BC or Playa Vista, CA (onsite 4 days per week)

Salary: $115,060 - $227,010 CAD

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize core runtime engine systems in a large C++ codebase.
• Improve game performance, stability, memory usage, and multithreading across supported platforms.
• Profile and optimize runtime systems for PC and consoles.
• Investigate complex bugs, crashes, and low-level engine problems.
• Collaborate with pipeline, graphics, and tools teams to deliver robust engine technology.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on architecture and best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in game engines or core systems.
• Deep C++ expertise and ability to work effectively in large, established codebases.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture, memory systems, and CPU performance.
• Proven experience shipping AAA console and PC titles across multiple platforms.
• Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance analysis skills.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to a proprietary or bespoke internal game engine.
• Expertise in runtime memory systems, streaming technology, or asset loading.
• Knowledge of low-level I/O, job systems, or platform abstraction.
• Strong 3D math and linear algebra skills.
• Graphics programming experience on console or PC.
