What you will do

• Develop combat behaviors including target prioritization, movement, and ability usage.
• Implement humanization models for aim, reaction time, and difficulty scaling.
• Extend and maintain the in-house utility AI framework for complex decision-making.
• Optimize bot populations using techniques like tick throttling and LOD.
• Build automated test clients for feature and load testing at match scale.
• Collaborate with design teams to tune and refine AI behavior through playtests.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in gameplay or game AI engineering on shipped action games.
• Strong fluency in C++ and Unreal Engine, specifically AI controllers, navigation, and EQS.
• Experience with utility AI or similar decision-making architectures.
• Knowledge of AI in networked multiplayer, including client/server authority and prediction.
• Ability to optimize concurrent agents for performance.

Nice to have

• Experience with player bots in competitive shooters.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5, StateTree, and Gameplay Ability System.
• Knowledge of control systems and input simulation.
• Experience building automated test clients and load testing infrastructure.
