Senior Gameplay Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote for candidates with legal residence in Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington

Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of core gameplay AI systems and frameworks.
• Own large-scale AI features from concept through shipping.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability challenges across gameplay systems.
• Partner with Design, Animation, and Audio teams to define AI feature goals.
• Establish engineering standards and improve team-wide AI development workflows.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional gameplay or AI engineering experience.
• Proven experience owning large gameplay systems in a production environment.
• Expertise in architecting AI simulation systems using C++ and Blueprints.
• In-depth knowledge of Behavior Trees, FSMs, and Utility AI.
• Extensive experience with Unreal Engine and its AI authoring tools.
• Legal residence in AZ, CA, FL, MI, NY, NC, TX, or WA is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with animation techniques such as Control Rig and MotionMatching.
• Passion for delivering highly-tuned game feel.
