TL;DR

Sr Sales Engineer (DevTools): Proving the value of developer productivity tools and enterprise infrastructure solutions with an accent on technical discovery and POC trials. Focus on mapping complex customer architectures to targeted solutions and contributing to the open-source community.

Location: Remote (US-East: Atlanta, GA / Miami, FL / New York, NY)

Salary: $175,750 - $219,687 a year (Base pay: $165,000 - $175,750 USD)

What you will do

  • Partner with Account Executives across the full sales cycle to conduct technical discovery and demos.
  • Design and deliver technical presentations and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements tailored to executive and engineering audiences.
  • Map customer architecture and workflows to targeted solutions that demonstrate clear ROI.
  • Act as a technical liaison between prospective customers and internal product, marketing, and delivery teams.
  • Provide architectural guidance on solution fit, implementation approach, and risk tradeoffs.
  • Contribute to the technical community through conference sessions, webinars, blog posts, and open-source projects.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role (pre-sales, solutions engineering, professional services, or technical support).
  • Hands-on experience with Java and/or C/C++ enterprise development.
  • Strong Linux background and deep understanding of the enterprise Linux ecosystem.
  • Experience with open source software adoption and CNCF technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch).
  • Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure) and proficiency with containerization and virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with HPC, scientific computing, or performance engineering (e.g., TotalView).
  • Strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform).
