Employee Relations Business Partner (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Chicago, IL or Westlake, TX offices, with in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $146,000–$172,000 USD annually for Zone 2 locations including Chicago and Westlake. The role is also eligible for bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support day-to-day employee relations operations and align ER policies with legal requirements and company values.
• Assist with employee relations investigations, research, feedback tracking, data compilation, and interviews under senior ER guidance.
• Maintain accurate case records in HR Acuity, ensure compliant documentation, and prepare routine reports.
• Coordinate resources, meetings, follow-ups, and training logistics with internal stakeholders, Learning & Development, and Legal.
• Assist with severance agreements, accommodation logistics, vendor communications, and standard employee inquiries.
• Escalate complex or sensitive matters appropriately while supporting fair and compliant workplace practices.

Requirements

• 10 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in employee relations or HR business partner roles.
• Experience working in dynamic, high-growth environments and collaborating across departments and organizational levels.
• Knowledge of core HR practices and state and federal employment laws.
• Familiarity with performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and complex employee conversations.
• Ability to analyze people data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills, including experience with HR tools such as HR Acuity.
