TL;DR

Network Virtualization Engineer/Administrator (VMware/NSX): Supporting network build-out and deployments for the C2BMC Test Facility with an accent on VMware system administration, VCF infrastructure, and cybersecurity compliance. Focus on implementing logical routing in NSX environments, configuring distributed stateful firewalling, and migrating workloads to VMware Cloud Foundation.

Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. Remote work is not available.

Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 annually

What you will do

• Perform VMware system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for critical problems.
• Manage and maintain VCF infrastructure using vSphere, NSX, and vSAN.
• Implement distributed stateful firewalling, NAT, load balancing, and micro-segmentation within NSX environments.
• Execute vulnerability remediation and patching to ensure strict DoD compliance and reduce cybersecurity risks.
• Conduct daily system monitoring, backups, restoral, and application upgrades to ensure continuous operation.
• Collaborate with system administrators and cybersecurity teams to maintain high-quality government test environments.

Requirements

• Active DoW Secret Security Clearance.
• DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA) or higher.
• 10+ years of general full-time work experience, with 5+ years of directly related Network and Virtualization experience.
• Deep understanding of Foundational VCF Infrastructure (vSphere, NSX, vSAN) and proficiency with SDDC Manager.
• Experience with Internet Protocols (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL) and firewall configuration.
• Proven experience in a management or leadership role (1+ years).

Nice to have

• VMware certifications such as VCTA, VCP-DCV, VCAP, or VCDX-DCV.
• Cisco (CCNA) or Juniper (JNCIA) certifications.
• Proficiency in Python or PowerShell programming and scripting.
• Experience with VXLAN, Juniper Apstra, VMWare Aria, and RHEL Ansible.
• Degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline.
