Resident Engineer (Juniper)

Resident Engineer (Juniper): Delivering reactive and proactive network technical support for customers with an accent on Juniper Networks, Mist, and Apstra deployment. Focus on designing large-scale IP networks, troubleshooting complex routing/switching issues, and implementing automation via Python and Ansible.

Location: Remote/Teleworker (primarily home-based), but requires on-site technical support. Must be based in the United States (Virginia)

Salary: USD 92,600 - 213,500 per year

What you will do

• Conduct network information gathering workshops to understand existing designs and technical requirements.
• Perform testing of new designs, features, and functionality in laboratory environments.
• Troubleshoot equipment and network problems, managing JTAC cases to resolution.
• Train customer personnel on the configuration and operation of Juniper Networks products.
• Develop Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures for the customer infrastructure.
• Produce written summary reports on the status of design projects and overall network health.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks.
• Expertise with Juniper MIST, Apstra, and JUNOS CLI.
• Hands-on experience with QFX, EX, and PTX switching and routing.
• Deep knowledge of core routing BGP (eBGP and iBGP), OSPF, and EVPN/VXLAN.
• Proficiency in automation using Python, Ansible, YAML, and Juniper PyEZ.
• Relevant technical certifications: JNCIS-MistAI, Wireless, or JNCIP-MistAI.
