What you will do

• Design, engineer, install, and maintain terrestrial, satellite, and WAN/MAN/LAN networks and communication systems.
• Plan network configurations for system integration to ensure optimal performance and effective connectivity.
• Prepare technical proposals for Sponsor engineering review boards for the approval of new technologies.
• Perform operational maintenance, performance testing, and Cloud troubleshooting and tuning.
• Analyze communication links using monitoring tools to identify architecture, provider, or environment issues.
• Compose comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, network maps, and installation guides.

Requirements

• Clearance: TS/SCI Poly required.
• Location: Must be based in or able to work in Sterling, VA.
• Position is contingent upon contract award.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automation and system management.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud networking services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with wireless network design (Wi-Fi) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Relevant certifications: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Red Hat Certified Engineer, CISSP, or MCSE.
