Staff Software Development Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote (Seattle-based talent preferred)

Salary: $136,000 - $190,400

What you will do

• Lead API surface decisions, including what is exposed to external consumers and established stability guarantees.
• Own technical discovery for new capabilities, translating product and clinical requirements into technical contracts.
• Mentor the team through expert code reviews and guidance on the most challenging technical problems.
• Participate in on-call rotations, manage incident responses, and drive system reliability improvements.
• Design and implement solutions using modern cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Significant experience designing or operating public or partner-facing APIs.
• Deep proficiency in back-end technologies such as Golang, Python, and Kotlin.
• Experience with API gateway or management tooling (e.g., Azure API Management, Kong, AWS API Gateway).
• Ability to set up effective monitoring for APIs and model performance.
• Must be authorized to work in the US (implied by US-specific benefits).

Nice to have

• Experience in the Healthcare industry.
• Background in Machine Learning, Data Science, or NLP.
