Senior Claims Examiner, Construction

Location: Red Bank, New Jersey, United States; hybrid. US work authorization is required.

Salary: $78,000–$107,250 base annually, plus a 15% incentive.

What you will do

• Handle moderate- to high-complexity and high-exposure construction claims from coverage inquiry through liability assessment, damages analysis, and resolution.
• Review policies and claim documentation, determine coverage, prepare coverage position letters, and refer suspicious losses for investigation.
• Lead and coordinate investigations into loss facts and damages, including assignments to experts and outside counsel.
• Evaluate exposure, set reserves within authority, negotiate settlements, and represent hirify.global at mediations, trials, and conferences.
• Present trial matters and loss information to claims leaders, underwriters, insureds, and other business stakeholders.
• Serve as a technical resource, support policy wording and claims guidelines, lead projects, and train or coach claims colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of claims handling experience, including 3 years as a Claims Examiner.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain a claims adjuster license.
• Experience with negotiation, mediation, trial monitoring, litigation management, and directing defense attorneys or experts.
• Knowledge of tort and contract law, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree.
• Industry designations such as INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, or CPCU.
• Training through CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, FDCC, or similar programs.
