Workers Compensation Claims Representative

Location: Lake Elmo, Minnesota, United States. Hybrid work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training.

Salary: $50,000–$81,500 per year, plus potential bonuses.

What you will do

• Investigate workers compensation claims, assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and assess legal liability.
• Approve or deny losses and review medical bills to authorize accurate, timely payments.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
• Gather information from employers, employees, hospitals, doctors, attorneys, agents, policyholders, and injured workers.
• Resolve claims and participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when necessary.
• Review insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build product and coverage knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent direct workers compensation claims-handling experience with an insurance carrier.
• Familiarity with a broad range of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and interpret data, multitask, make independent decisions, and resolve complex issues.
