Contracts & Risk Analyst (Architects, Engineers, Construction)

Location: Hybrid at an office in Alpharetta, GA; Chicago, IL; McLean, VA; New York City; or St. Louis, MO. Preference is for Alpharetta, GA. The role may involve limited travel to client locations.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 annual base salary, with potential bonus eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Review and analyze design, consulting, and construction contracts to identify contractual risk exposures, insurability issues, and mitigation strategies.
• Engage with clients, counsel, customers, and stakeholders to negotiate and finalize contractual risk and insurance provisions.
• Coordinate with broker teams on insurance requirements, policy interpretation, claims, and complex risk management matters.
• Assist clients with recognizing and reporting claims and circumstances across applicable coverage lines.
• Monitor client losses, liaise with carriers, prepare claim summaries, and manage claims notes and action items.
• Support claims reviews, renewals, training, and the delivery of contractual risk management services.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in contract administration, claims review, risk management, or legal services within architecture, engineering, or construction.
• Associate's degree or higher required; a bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
• Strong contract drafting, revision, negotiation, communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
• Ability to work with clients, insurers, underwriters, claims adjusters, coverage counsel, attorneys, and broker teams.
• Strong organization, time management, multitasking, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Paralegal certification or a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved program.
• Active membership in good standing of at least one state bar for candidates with a Juris Doctor degree.
• Prior insurance industry experience.
• Property and Casualty agent/producer licenses or other professional designations.
