Sr. Firmware Engineer (Embedded C++)

Salary: $103,500 - $191,900

What you will do

• Develop advanced firmware solutions for critical substation monitoring and diagnosis requirements.
• Design and implement real-time operating systems for data acquisition and analysis.
• Coordinate firmware development activities and lead quality and scheduling projects.
• Perform pre-qualification and verification testing to ensure compliance with regulatory needs.
• Support the transition of products to mass manufacturing.
• Collaborate with sales and support teams post-release to meet customer needs using Scrum Agile methodology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems design, development, testing, and debugging.
• Expertise in Embedded C/C++ development within real-time, multi-threaded environments.
• Proficiency in programming peripheral interfaces such as UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Proven experience with industrial protocols: Modbus, DNP3, IEC60870, and IEC61850.
• Extensive experience with embedded Linux and Windows environments.

Nice to have

• Experience developing products for the power utility industry.
• Familiarity with AI technologies in firmware development.
• Understanding of cybersecurity implementation principles.
• Experience with FPGA programming and development.
• Proficiency in C#, PHP, JS, and Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, JIRA, and Confluence.
