Associate Engineer, Embedded Firmware

Location: Hybrid in Tualatin, Oregon, United States; up to 10% travel may be required.

Salary: $63,000–$90,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Develop firmware and software for electrical assemblies and commercial products.
• Contribute to product development across specification, design, implementation, testing, release, and manufacturing support.
• Prepare requirements, analyze designs, write code, and implement and test application components.
• Develop test specifications and data, conduct unit testing, and assist with system testing and documentation.
• Select components, support hardware design, debug low-level product issues, and assist other engineers.
• Prepare statements of work and project plans and resolve development issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
• 0–2 years of experience in embedded hardware and software engineering, design, and development.
• Experience with embedded firmware in C or C++ and with 16/32-bit microcontrollers and ARM processors.
• Understanding of RTOS concepts and experience designing event-driven real-time firmware.
• Experience with CAN, BLE, UART, SPI, I2C, or other communication protocols.
• Strong debugging, critical-thinking, technical documentation, communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills; understanding of electrical safety.

Nice to have

• Internship experience.
• Experience writing unit tests.
• Experience with Matter, BLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, or Linux.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or JTAG debuggers.
