MEP Manager (Data Center)

Location: US; on-site at a large-scale data center project

Base salary: $100,000–$180,000 USD per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and/or commission.

What you will do

• Act as the owner's on-site representative for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing scopes across the data center project.
• Lead MEP coordination meetings, BIM clash detection reviews, and subcontractor prefabrication planning.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, installation sequencing, quality, and code compliance.
• Coordinate MEP systems with IT and low-voltage infrastructure, raised floors, and structural elements.
• Oversee startup, pre-commissioning, FATs, SATs, punch-list resolution, NCRs, and commissioning activities.
• Provide progress reporting and assess MEP-related change proposals for technical validity and owner impact.

Requirements

• 10+ years of MEP construction or commissioning experience, including at least 4 years in data center or mission-critical environments.
• Deep knowledge of critical power systems, including switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and generators, and cooling infrastructure such as chillers, cooling towers, and CRAC/CRAH systems.
• Experience with MEP BIM coordination, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and 3D clash resolution workflows.
• Ability to interpret complex MEP drawings, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment submittals.
• Procore and Bluebeam Revu experience required; OSHA 30 certification required.
• Ability to work in active construction and energized equipment environments while following electrical safety protocols and site PPE requirements.

Nice to have

• RCDD or equivalent credential.
• PE license in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE TC 9.9, BICSI standards, or Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
• Experience preparing commissioning plans, test procedures, and system verification reports.
