Commissioning Site Manager (AI Data Centers)

Location: Austin, Texas, or U.S. remote; the role includes multi-site field commissioning and on-site coordination.

Salary: $190,000–$242,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead owner-side Level 1–5 commissioning across multiple data center sites.
• Direct general contractors, designers, commissioning agents, vendors, and other delivery partners.
• Witness and verify mechanical, HVAC, electrical, BMS, EPMS, and integrated systems testing.
• Review commissioning plans, method-of-procedure documents, test scripts, and startup reports against ASHRAE, BCxA, and NETA requirements.
• Own site commissioning schedules, issues logs, test records, and turnover packages.
• Diagnose startup and performance failures and drive corrective actions through the responsible parties.

Requirements

• Experience leading owner-side commissioning for hyperscale or mission-critical data center construction.
• Hands-on experience witnessing and signing off Level 1–5 mechanical testing, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, MAUs, piping, controls, and water treatment systems.
• Hands-on experience with electrical commissioning, including generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS and battery systems, ATS/STS, PDUs, busways, grounding, and EPMS.
• Experience applying NETA specifications and ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines.
• Experience diagnosing failures under schedule pressure and driving fixes across design, installation, controls, and equipment teams.
• Must be able to work in the United States and perform multi-site field commissioning duties.

Nice to have

• BSc or MSc in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• BCxA or ASHRAE commissioning certification, such as CxA or CBCP.
• Experience commissioning first-of-a-kind modular data centers.
• Experience with Level 4 and Level 5 test automation, campus-scale water treatment, or fuel oil systems.
