Powertrain (EPS) Manufacturing Technician Lead (eVTOL)

What you will do

• Lead daily floor activities by onboarding and training junior technicians and coordinating shift handoffs.
• Assemble electric propulsion system components, including inverters, stators, gearboxes, and motors, using manual, semi-automated, and automated equipment.
• Partner with engineering on equipment bring-up, process validation, and production feedback.
• Debug electric engines, troubleshoot equipment and process disruptions, and perform complex rework as processes evolve.
• Build basic lab fixtures and assembly tools, perform equipment maintenance, and keep the workspace calibrated and audit-ready.
• Inspect and measure assemblies using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, measurement microscopes, height gauges, and CMM equipment.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent industry experience and 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in electric engine assembly.
• Experience in R&D, NPI, or early-stage production environments with evolving processes.
• Hands-on experience building complex mechanical and electronic assemblies from technical documentation, schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
• Ability to document deviations, follow formal build instructions, and use Microsoft Office for reporting.
• Proficiency with precision measurement and inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM.
• Familiarity with 5S and maintenance safety protocols such as LOTO and Arc Flash. Employment is contingent on a background check and pre-employment and random drug screening.

Nice to have

• Active IPC certifications or strong knowledge of IPC standards.
• Experience with stator windings.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
