Maintenance Engineer

Location: Detroit, MI 48201, United States; onsite with midnight and afternoon shifts and weekend coverage

What you will do

• Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and machinery.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance for facility assets, utilities, manufacturing and warehouse equipment, tooling, and office devices.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Plan maintenance work, prioritize workflow, make independent decisions, and solve operational problems with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors to support safe and dependable facility operations.
• Follow current good manufacturing practices, standard operating procedures, and quality guidelines.

Requirements

• Mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance skills.
• Mandatory City of Detroit Third Class Refrigeration License or Electrician Journeyman status within one year of employment.
• At least 1–3 years of related maintenance experience and working knowledge of other maintenance trades.
• Ability to use trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. frequently and work in awkward positions.
• Good written communication skills; Microsoft Office and basic Windows proficiency are preferred.
