TL;DR
Director, Total Rewards (HR Operations): Leading and modernizing benefits and compensation programs for a multimedia organization with an accent on strategic design and high-touch operational execution. Location: Hybrid; must be in the Washington, D.C. office at least 2 days a week and reside in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia
Salary: $167,000 - $184,500

What you will do
- Develop and drive a unified total rewards strategy to attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee benefits and retirement program administration, ensuring compliance and successful audits.
- Manage vendor and broker relationships for health and benefit providers.
- Lead annual compensation planning, market pricing, and pay equity frameworks.
- Partner with the People Systems team to optimize UKG configuration and data controls.
- Mentor and coach the internal benefits and compensation team.
Requirements
- 10+ years in benefits and compensation, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Advanced expertise in configuring and optimizing UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) modules.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA fiduciary responsibilities, 403(b) and 401(k) structures, and Form 5500 reporting.
- Proven ability to audit complex datasets and resolve legacy system issues.
- Strong understanding of salary bands, market pricing, and compensation governance.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as CCP, CMS, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or CEBS.
- Experience with benefits and compensation in a unionized environment.
- Experience supporting retirement plan corrections and compliance testing.
