Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Strengthening external supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes across the product lifecycle with an accent on design for manufacturability, supplier assessment, and continuous improvement. Focus on applying Lean and Six Sigma problem-solving, conducting capability gap analysis, and improving delivery performance across aerospace supply chains.

Location: Hybrid – Tewkesbury, United Kingdom; regular travel across the UK and Europe required

What you will do

  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers and improve their manufacturing processes and capability.
  • Act as the Manufacturing Engineering subject-matter expert within cross-functional supplier teams.
  • Translate design intent and requirements clearly for suppliers and support Design for Excellence activities.
  • Assess new supplier manufacturing capability, perform gap analyses, and support supplier onboarding.
  • Lead structured problem-solving and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Commodity teams to improve supplier performance and delivery.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing capability assessment.
  • Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and capability analysis.
  • Data-driven problem-solving and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Tewkesbury and travel regularly across the UK and Europe.

Nice to have

  • Experience in internal and supply chain manufacturing, NPI, machining, assembly, and complex components.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards including AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145.
