Lead Electrical Engineer

Location: Hybrid, San Jose, California, USA

Annual base salary: $144,000–$200,000; higher compensation may be considered based on business needs, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Define electrical and compliance design concepts with cross-functional teams and vendors based on product specifications.
• Use simulation tools to identify and assess electrical and EMI risk areas.
• Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts using CAD software.
• Validate and debug hardware designs, identify root causes of failures, and develop cost-effective mitigation strategies.
• Perform EMC testing, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and ESD testing.
• Support pilot builds and bring products through mass production.

Requirements

• Degree or background in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
• 10+ years of experience in the electronics product design process.
• Experience with simulation and computational modeling tools such as Cadence Sigrity, ANSYS, ANSYS HFSS, CST Studio Suite, or FEKO.
• Proficiency with diagnostic and troubleshooting equipment, including spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, VNAs, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and soldering equipment.
• Knowledge of FCC, ISED, CE Mark, and KC standards, including Korean Radio Certification and FCC certification protocols.
• Experience with EMC testing for USB, MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort, RGMII, PCIe, USB cables, HDMI cables, and coaxial cables.
