TL;DR

What you will do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to define electrical and compliance design based on product specifications.
  • Use simulation tools to identify risk areas and guide electrical design decisions.
  • Review and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts using CAD software.
  • Troubleshoot design failures by identifying root causes and developing cost-effective mitigation strategies.
  • Perform EMC compliance testing (radiated/conducted emissions, immunity, ESD) and address compliance failures (e.g., filters, ferrites, shielding changes).
  • Support pilot builds as needed.

Requirements

  • Background in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • 10+ years of electronics product design experience.
  • Experience with simulation and electrical engineering tools (e.g., Cadence Sigrity, ANSYS; diagnostic/troubleshooting equipment such as spectrum analyzer, EMI receiver, VNA, signal generator).
  • Knowledge of global regulatory standards and certification protocols (FCC, ISED, CE Mark, KC), including layout review and Korean radio certification and FCC certification.
  • Experience with computational modeling tools to predict EMI before physical prototyping (e.g., ANSYS HFSS, CST Studio Suite, FEKO).
  • Experience with high-speed standards and EMC testing for interfaces and cables (USB, MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort, RGMII, PCIe; long cable EMC testing such as USB/HDMI/coaxial).
