TL;DR
Principal Electrical Engineer (Medical Devices): Developing and supporting a next-generation Renal Denervation RF ablation generator with an accent on IEC 60601 safety and EMC, circuit card development, integration, verification, and validation. Focus on decomposing complex hardware requirements, resolving PCB-level issues, managing product risks, and coordinating multidisciplinary medical device development.
Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; minimum four days per week onsite. U.S. work authorization is required; sponsorship is available for Principal-level roles and above.
Salary: $134,400–$201,600 USD base salary, plus eligibility for the Incentive Plan.

What you will do
- Apply IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 expertise to electrical safety, EMC, risk management, verification, validation, and lifecycle activities.
- Support subsystem electrical design, circuit card development, PCB-level testing, characterization, integration, and issue resolution.
- Translate system, product, and hardware requirements into electrical engineering deliverables, test coverage, and verification strategies.
- Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, clinical technology, and program teams.
- Provide technical leadership during design reviews, standards discussions, test planning, troubleshooting, and risk assessments.
- Support design transfer readiness and lifecycle activities for the RF ablation generator platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with electromechanical systems or capital equipment, including hardware and software integration.
- Technical leadership experience.
- At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience in subsystem-level electrical design, circuit card development, and PCB-level testing; alternative requirements apply for advanced degrees.
- Ability to work onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota, at least four days per week and possess U.S. work authorization.
- For bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy applicable U.S. H-1B equivalency requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience with RF energy delivery, system-on-module, or FPGA technologies.
- Experience with ISO 14971.
- Experience in product concept development, customer interaction, systems engineering, requirements verification, and validation.
