Software Engineering Lead

Location: Hybrid role based at hirify.global in McKinney, Texas; occasional travel is required.

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction of complex software projects and align delivery with business objectives.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Promote software development, system architecture, Agile, and project management best practices.
• Mentor technical team members and support the development of future technical leaders.
• Oversee quality, performance, risk assessment, and mitigation throughout project delivery.
• Evaluate emerging tools and technologies, including cloud and other technologies relevant to the organization’s technology stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of software development experience, including 3 years in technical leadership.
• Experience leading large-scale, complex projects in a Fortune 50 or comparable high-performance environment.
• Expertise in software development languages, frameworks, and tools, with the ability to turn complex business needs into technical specifications.
• Strong Agile, project management, communication, problem-solving, quality assurance, and risk management skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office and remote environment and travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling technology solutions, modernizing legacy systems, and implementing cloud-first solutions.
• Knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or blockchain.
• Experience managing cross-cultural teams and working across geographic and functional boundaries.
• CSM, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent certification.
• Patents, published industry contributions, or conference speaking experience.
