What you will do
- Partner with OEM software/firmware teams to assess platforms and define integration points for embedding Karman.
- Develop and adapt OS-level and firmware components (e.g., Linux BSP, drivers, embedded services) for each OEM platform.
- Diagnose and resolve integration issues using embedded toolchains (debuggers, tracing/profiling, tuning utilities).
- Lead OEM-facing technical calls, design reviews, and on-site visits to gather requirements and troubleshoot.
- Own end-to-end OEM integration execution: kickoff, design, validation, release, and deployment.
- Design and automate test frameworks/configuration checkers and maintain integration artifacts (checklists, test plans, guides, KPI trackers).
Requirements
- Location: Must be performed remotely from within the United States; periodic travel to OEM partner sites and the company’s HQ in Ann Arbor, MI is required.
- 6+ years of hands-on embedded OS and firmware development experience, including direct customer/partner-facing work.
- Strong embedded Linux experience: BSP bring-up, driver development, and kernel-level debugging.
- Fluency with embedded development toolchain: debuggers (e.g., JTAG, GDB), tracing/profiling tools, and system tuning utilities.
- Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded development, plus Python or Rust for tooling/automation.
- Ability to design and implement integration validation tools, configuration checks, or test automation for embedded environments.
