What you will do
- Lead a portfolio of Insurance clients, including Brokers, Life, Non-life, and Lloyd's of London.
- Conduct independent credit analysis and provide recommendations on lending, trading limits, and internal ratings.
- Proactively contribute to sector strategy, credit policies, and simplification initiatives to automate processes.
- Analyze market and counterparty risk dynamics for traded products, including derivatives and securities financing.
- Monitor portfolio risks and concentrations, recommending mitigation actions for emerging sector developments.
- Support the development of junior team members and maintain consistent underwriting standards.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Insurance business models, regulatory environments, and capital frameworks.
- Robust experience in financial and non-financial analysis of insurance firms.
- Excellent credit writing skills with the ability to present complex risks concisely.
- Knowledge of traded products, market risk calculations, and exposure mitigation.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Must be based in or be able to work from Birmingham, Bristol, or Leeds (Hybrid).
Nice to have
- Formal Credit and Insurance sector training.
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, or FRM.
