What you will do
- Lead the power electronics technical strategy and technology roadmap for high-voltage DC and AC aircraft power distribution.
- Define and solve complex engineering problems involving HVDC/AC conversion, protection, thermal design, and EMC.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination to engineering teams to deliver projects on time and with high quality.
- Act as the senior technical authority and customer-facing escalation point for high-voltage power systems.
- Drive the adoption of advanced power electronics technologies, including SiC, GaN, and model-based design.
- Support bid activities by providing technical input, cost estimation, and risk identification.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent substantial industry experience.
- Must be able to work in the UK without restrictions and be prepared to undergo UK National Security Vetting.
- Advanced expertise in high-voltage power electronics design and safety-critical frameworks (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160).
- Strong experience in EMC design and compliance for high-speed switching systems.
- Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools such as SPICE and PLECS/PSIM.
- Substantial experience in complex engineering environments, particularly with safety-critical systems.
Nice to have
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
- Postgraduate study or specialized training in power electronics, EMC, or high-voltage safety.
