What you will do

• Build and maintain high-performance web scraping and data collection services using Python and asyncio.
• Reverse engineer websites and third-party platforms to identify reliable methods of accessing real-time data.
• Develop low-latency data feeds that integrate with internal trading systems.
• Design resilient services capable of handling session management, rate limits, and changing page structures.
• Work with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and high-throughput messaging.
• Improve system observability using structured logging, latency metrics, and distributed tracing.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience using Python.
• Commercial experience building web scraping or automated data collection systems.
• Proficiency with asynchronous Python, specifically asyncio.
• Deep understanding of browser behaviour, HTTP, APIs, authentication, and network requests.
• Experience with distributed systems and messaging platforms.
• Must be based in London for hybrid working.

Nice to have

• Experience with trading systems or real-time data feeds.
• Knowledge of browser automation.
• Experience with rapidly changing third-party platforms.
