Python Developer (Trading): Building low-latency real-time data and execution systems for a technology team operating across statistical modelling and trading with an accent on production Python, messaging infrastructure, and observability. Focus on designing reliable backend services, integrating Kafka and RabbitMQ, and supporting software throughout its lifecycle in collaboration with traders and quants.
Location: London, United Kingdom — hybrid; office attendance required Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with remote work on Wednesday and Friday.
Salary: £70,000–£90,000 per year, plus significant bonus potential.

What you will do
- Build low-latency, real-time data feeds and execution systems.
- Develop and maintain production systems with Python 3.10+.
- Work with Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Improve observability using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana.
- Own software across design, development and production support.
- Collaborate directly with traders, quants and engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience.
- Strong commercial Python experience.
- Experience with advanced web scraping and reverse engineering, including bot-protection tooling.
- Computer Science or numerical degree from a top university.
- Strong technical decision-making and communication skills.
- Visa sponsorship is not available; applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered.
