What you will do

  • Partner with Account Executives in discovery calls to validate customer pain points and establish domain credibility with prospects.
  • Ensure sales terminology and RFP responses align with actual practitioner language and operational realities in the public sector.
  • Represent the company at major industry conferences (GFOA, NIGP, etc.) to build relationships with senior practitioners and executives.
  • Develop thought leadership content, including white papers and guides on budget modernization, procurement reform, and grant compliance.
  • Consult with product teams to identify functional gaps and ensure the roadmap reflects regulatory requirements and practitioner priorities.
  • Facilitate Customer Advisory Board sessions and lead domain-specific sessions at the annual customer conference.

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience in government budgeting, public procurement, or grants management.
  • Direct professional background in a public sector organization (city, county, or state government strongly preferred).
  • Ability to communicate with authority and credibility in front of senior audiences, including elected officials and finance directors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for translating domain knowledge into compelling content.
  • Proven track record of building trusted relationships within the public sector community.
  • Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Prior pre-sales or solutions consulting experience within a public sector SaaS company.
  • Professional certifications such as CPPO, CPPB, or CGMS.
  • Experience speaking at professional conferences or publishing domain-relevant professional content.
  • Familiarity with hirify.global products or competitive GovTech solutions.
