What you will do

• Define technical strategy for AI initiatives, influencing product direction and aligning engineering investments.
• Design, build, and train advanced ML and LLM-based systems for patient and provider-facing products.
• Own the full lifecycle of AI features, including scoping, data preparation, modeling, and production deployment.
• Develop robust evaluation frameworks, including human-in-the-loop reviews and offline benchmarks, to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Build and improve infrastructure for data pipelines, model management, and clinical tooling.
• Partner with clinicians and product teams to translate medical requirements into measurable ML improvements.

Requirements

• Must be based in the U.S.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience, including 2+ years building and deploying ML systems and generative AI.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to ship reliable, well-tested code in Python.
• Practical experience with modern LLM techniques such as prompting, RAG, and fine-tuning.
• Ability to work with real-world data and design effective evaluation systems.
• Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration with clinicians and product managers.

Nice to have

• Experience applying ML/LLMs in healthcare or other regulated, high-stakes domains.
• Experience with clinical NLP, medical knowledge representation, or EHR data.
• Experience building agentic systems or tool-using LLMs in production.
• Track record of technical leadership and mentoring.
