Salary: $225,000–$265,000/year

What you will do
- Structure customer contracts (MSAs and Order Forms) to manage risk across copyright, data access, and privacy.
- Own the legal strategy for partnership and content licensing deals.
- Become the internal expert on the legal landscape of web scraping, including robots.txt, ToS, and access case law.
- Collaborate directly with engineering teams to ensure technical compliance in data sourcing and serving.
- Advise founders and leadership on risk and strategy during scaling phases.
- Build foundational legal infrastructure, including templates, playbooks, and processes.
Requirements
- 6+ years of legal practice with significant exposure to data, IP, privacy, and technology transactions.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a valid U.S. work visa.
- Deep understanding or ability to quickly master the legal terrain of web scraping and public data.
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into practical guidance for a fast-moving technical team.
- Comfortable operating as the sole legal authority and making high-stakes decisions.
- Strong ability to bridge the gap between engineering workflows and commercial legal requirements.
