TL;DR

New Business Agent (Workers Compensation): Managing inbound sales inquiries and driving new business production for commercial insurance products with an accent on consultative selling and client relationship management. Focus on assessing customer needs, providing accurate coverage recommendations, and guiding clients through the full quoting and binding process.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Sacramento, California. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days onsite per week, with a mandatory full-time onsite training period.

Compensation: $52,000–$62,000 base salary plus uncapped performance-based commission (Total compensation at plan: $76,000–$98,000+).

What you will do

  • Manage inbound sales inquiries, referrals, and walk-in prospects to convert leads into new clients.
  • Educate business owners on Workers' Compensation requirements and coverage options.
  • Generate accurate insurance quotes based on underwriting guidelines and client risk profiles.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through policy issuance and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams and insurance carriers to secure optimal coverage solutions.
  • Maintain accurate client records and sales activity within company systems.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 2+ years of sales experience in insurance, financial services, or consultative B2B environments.
  • Active California Property & Casualty Insurance License or willingness to obtain one within 90 days.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Sacramento office 4 days per week (9:00 AM–6:00 PM PST).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business applications.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Finance.
  • Prior experience with workers’ compensation or commercial insurance operations.
