Staff AI UX Product Designer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with remote and onsite work in the Sherman Oaks, Austin, or Mountain View offices in the United States

Salary: $140,500–$224,800 annually, plus potential bonuses, incentive compensation, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Frame ambiguous problem spaces, explore product directions, and guide concepts toward effective solutions.
• Identify gaps in the design system and create patterns and components that fit its architecture.
• Build and ship production-quality prototypes using real data and interactions.
• Take features from requirements through launch while contributing directly to front-end implementation with AI development tools.
• Evaluate and refine AI-generated work against the intended design direction.
• Partner with product and engineering on roadmap priorities, design iteration, validation, and team development.

Requirements

• Strong design fundamentals, strategic thinking, clear communication, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
• Experience building and launching zero-to-one products at a startup, internal venture, or small team.
• Daily experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code or an equivalent tool as part of the design workflow.
• Fluency with Git and GitHub, including branches and pull requests.
• Experience scaffolding prompts and context to keep AI output consistent across a project.
• Experience extending design systems and working autonomously through ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Startup experience with shipped products that produced measurable customer or business outcomes.
• Two or more years of designing and building with AI as a primary toolkit.
• Experience identifying opportunities and quickly turning rough or unsolicited concepts into working products.
