What you will do

• Perform daily reconciliation of payment transactions (ACH, Check, Virtual Card, Wire) to ensure accurate fund recording.
• Research and resolve exception items by partnering with Payment Operations, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define reconciliation requirements for new payment flows and system enhancements.
• Maintain and improve documentation for reconciliation procedures as products evolve.
• Manage closing activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and SOX-compliant internal controls.
• Identify and implement opportunities to standardize and automate the reconciliation lifecycle.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in payment reconciliation or financial operations in high-volume environments.
• Deep knowledge of payment lifecycles (initiation, funding, settlement, clearing, returns/ACH R-codes).
• Proficiency in Excel (Power Query, Index-Match) and experience with SQL or data tools like Alteryx/Tableau.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliation tools such as Blackline Matching.

Nice to have

• Experience in the fintech or banking industry.
• Experience with SOX controls in a public company environment.
• Experience using AI tools (Claude, Gemini, Glean) to automate workflows and research datasets.
