Lead Investigator (Logistics)

TL;DR

Lead Investigator (Security): Serving as the primary security representative in Mexico to manage employee safety, intelligence gathering, and operational risk mitigation with an accent on cargo theft and freight fraud. Focus on leading complex investigations, coordinating with law enforcement, and developing security awareness programs for a large employee base.

Location: Onsite in Mexico City, Mexico. Ability to travel throughout Mexico is required.

What you will do

• Act as the primary in-country security resource, providing strategic guidance on employee safety and transportation risks.
• Monitor and assess security developments, including cargo theft trends and civil unrest affecting operations.
• Lead complex investigations into criminal activity, fraud, employee misconduct, and workplace incidents.
• Liaise with law enforcement, government agencies, and industry partners to support investigations.
• Develop and deliver security training and crisis response procedures for approximately 1,200 employees.
• Partner with Legal, HR, and Compliance to strengthen the overall security posture and business continuity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Security Studies, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or risk management.
• Minimum 10 years of operational experience within Mexico with deep knowledge of the local security environment.
• Proven track record of leading high-risk investigations involving cargo theft and corruption.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Must be based in Mexico City.

• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or technology sectors.
• Established professional relationships with federal and state law enforcement in Mexico.
• Experience with multinational organizations and U.S. government-related security.
• Expertise in producing executive-level security briefings and threat assessments.
