TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Fintech): Designing and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems for Bankrate’s digital financial products with an accent on distributed systems, API design, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on building high-performance full-stack applications, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring engineering teams to ensure system reliability and business impact.
Location: Must be based in the United States, with a preference for candidates near New York, NY or Charlotte, NC for hybrid work. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.
Salary: $100,000 – $195,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable systems within a product area.
- Build and optimize continuous delivery pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability.
- Partner with product and design teams to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve technical challenges, dependencies, and integration issues.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design discussions.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools, including AI tooling, to improve team outcomes.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United States and able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.
- Deep fluency in TypeScript for API services and full-stack web applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Proven ability to make informed tradeoffs regarding scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD automation.
- Effective communication skills to influence decisions and explain complex concepts.
